Aging with Dignity: The Serving Seniors Story
Across the country, millions of older adults are aging into poverty — facing rising costs, health challenges, and social isolation. In San Diego, the numbers are stark: over 85% of Serving Seniors' clients live on less than $1,125 a month, struggling to afford even the most basic needs. For these seniors, every day is a choice between food or medication, housing or health. And in a society that too often overlooks its elders, Serving Seniors is standing up — with compassion, innovation, and a commitment to help seniors age with dignity, health, and hope. Since 1970, Serving Seniors has pioneered a nationally recognized model that goes far beyond meals. It’s a comprehensive support system that helps low-income and homeless seniors live independently, stay healthy, and remain connected to a caring community.
