Sitara Sriram Sethi is a nonprofit leader and health promotion professional with experience across countries, communities, and disciplines. As Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation for Developmental Disabilities, she works to create opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
Her work focuses on building partnerships, supporting inclusive programs, advancing equity, and strengthening community-based support systems for vulnerable communities.
About the Organization :
The Foundation for Developmental Disabilities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1986. The foundation works to enhance the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by funding innovative programs, offering scholarships, and supporting emergency needs.
Its mission is to generate and distribute funds to programs that improve opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
Work and Impact :
The Foundation supports programs in four key impact areas: Employment, Family Support, Housing, and Self-Advocacy. Through grants, scholarships, and emergency support, the organization helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families access resources, dignity, inclusion, and opportunity.
The foundation has supported community organizations working in areas such as adaptive sports, therapeutic programs, creative expression, family support, accessible housing, and advocacy.
Through her leadership, Sitara Sriram Sethi is helping build a more inclusive community where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are supported to pursue their dreams and reach their potential.
